People say” knowledge is power” but really…

Knowledge in action is power!

Every year I attend or teach other doctors “Continuing Education” hours so those that choose can be cutting edge with the services and advice they offer their patients. Most importantly, I strive to practice what I preach/teach to patients. It is critical for a physician to have the congruency to not only LEARN for patients but LIVE for them.

Too many physicians practice the “Do as I say, not as I do” method of patient leadership.

Since the term “Doctor” is Latin for “Educator or Teacher,” I am a strong believer in:

1. Keeping current with what is new the Health care vs. Disease care realm

2. Learning, applying, and sharing knowledge that help my patients and community be more healthy and avoid diseases.

3. Teach by example. I believe, “If our community knew what you and I knew, they would do what you and I do.”

Chiropractic Works!

Chiropractic works. It works in big cities, it works in the country and it certainly works in South Jordan, Utah. Chiropractic is fantastic for injury rehab such as after an auto accident BUT that is only a small piece of the puzzle… it is a lifestyle that saves lives, prevents disease and drastically reduces health care expenses for families who use it regularly. Simply put, the more we use it for our entire family, the more affordable it becomes (especially in our office).

Better Health and Nutrition

Proper nutritional intake (eating the right food ’building blocks’ while avoiding toxic foods) combined with Chiropractic (a healthy functioning nervous system) is so powerful for better health that it is hard to put in words. So many of us have poor eating habits and don’t even realize it. We think we are eating “healthy” when in fact our eating habits regularly load our body with “toxins” that are literally stealing years from our life and quality of life from our years.

So what do I do that I hope you do as well?

1. Get adjusted regularly. Not just you but your spouse and kids. Chiropractic is a family affair!

2. Eat simple. If you don’t understand the words in the ingredient portion of the label, don’t eat it. One of the great teachers this year at the Parker, Las Vegas Seminar was the author of “If it isn’t food, don’t eat it.” That is what I am talking about. Food is “Broccoli, strawberries, pasta, etc.” Enriched bleached wheat flour, high fructose corn syrup, monosodium glutamate…those ingredients do not equal “food.” Read labels video

3. Exercise. Get up early and start your day with exercise. It gets the heart pumping, flushes out your lymph system, increases strength and stamina; the benefits are numerous.

4. Never stop learning. Be sure to keep abreast of what is new in health and healing. Be careful to listen to your heart on new concepts. In other words, don’t just follow blindly. If it sounds good and feels right, apply it. Because applied knowledge is power!
